During this protest, lives lost, voices silenced, families broken, truth buried under force. Grief & anger in the face of injustice are human. Wanting to fightback is human.
But Iran’s strength has never come from becoming what oppresses it.
It has come from a deeper civilizational instinct: restraint with resolve, courage with wisdom, and justice without revenge. This is why Iranians are known as patient, caring, and deeply civilized and why uncivilized ideologies and violent powers have so often tried to exploit that dignity.
The wisdom associated with Cyrus was not silence in the face of injustice, nor chaos in response to it. It was steadfast pressure without cruelty, visibility without savagery, and lawful resistance that outlasts brute force.
What this means now:
Continue to protest, persistently, visibly, and non-violently. Silence is what oppression depends on.
Use your voice where you live, contact elected officials, institutions, and media in your country. Governments respond when citizens insist, repeatedly and clearly.
Share the truth relentlessly, on social media, in conversations, in public spaces. Darkness survives on isolation; exposure weakens it.
Protect unity across differences, political, religious, generational. Fragmentation is the oldest weapon used against Iranians.
Do not underestimate yourselves. Iranians carry a rare combination of depth, compassion, intelligence, and endurance.
How You Can Contribute Right Now
IranUnity.org was initiated during the Woman–Life–Freedom movement, inspired by the long legacy of Iranian women’s leadership beginning with Táhirih (Qurratu’l-‘Ayn), who in the mid-19th century courageously championed women’s emancipation in Iran, influencing progressive thought far beyond its borders, including Europe and North America.
The platform is also guided by the values and lifelong contributions of Firuz Naderi, a close friend and supporter, in whose name this work continues. Firuz Naderi was deeply passionate about Iran’s freedom, progress, and future. He cared profoundly for disadvantaged children in Iran, believing that education, dignity, and opportunity were the true foundations of national renewal. His commitment to Iran was not symbolic or distant—it was personal, enduring, and expressed through action. He loved Iran deeply and believed in its people’s capacity to rise, contribute, and lead with knowledge, ethics, and compassion.
Firuz Naderi helped many young Iranians pursue higher education in the United States and supported careers at NASA and other leading institutions. He was also proud of fellow Iranian Farhad Mohit, founder of Flipagram, whose technology and team later helped build the infrastructure that evolved into what became TikTok.
Firuz Naderi was one of NASA’s most influential leaders in robotic space exploration. Over a 36-year career at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he rebuilt NASA’s Mars Program after major failures and led the teams behind the Spirit and Opportunity rover missions, which transformed humanity’s understanding of Mars. His leadership shaped the strategy, engineering culture, and mission architecture that continue to guide NASA’s planetary exploration today.
